Trouble signing in or seeing your home
Fix the common sign-in problems: a password that is not accepted, a reset code or setup link that never came, two-factor codes, and signing in but not seeing your home.
Start here: three quick checks
Most sign-in problems come down to one of these. Check them before anything else.
Use the address Doorvest writes to
Sign in at doorvest.com/login with the email address our emails reach you at. If you have more than one address (work, personal, a shared family inbox), try each. Every address is its own login. Homes on one login do not show up on another, unless that person has invited you as a co-investor.Sign in the way you signed up
If you created your account with Google, use the Sign in with Google button under Or continue with instead of typing a password. If the button spins, unblock the robot check
Sign in first runs a quick check that you are a person. If that check cannot load, the button spins for a few seconds and the page then says “Verification timed out. Please try again.” or asks you to refresh. Refresh the page and try again. If it keeps happening, email your Doorvest team at success@doorvest.com.
Your password is not accepted
When the email and password do not match an account, the page says Incorrect username or password. It says the same thing whether the address has no account or the password is wrong, so check both.
- Check the email address for typos, and try your other addresses.
- Passwords are case sensitive. Check that Caps Lock is off, or tap the eye icon to see what you typed.
- Still not working? Reset your password.
Did your property manager move to Doorvest?
The same message goes on: “If your property manager recently moved to Doorvest and you have not set a password yet, check your texts or email for your setup link.” If that is you and you have not used your setup link yet, you have no password, so none will work. Use the link instead: here is how.Reset a forgotten password
- On the sign-in page, click Forgot your password?
- Enter your email and click Send Reset Code. The page then says “If there is an account for this email, we have sent instructions.” It says that for every address, so it cannot tell you whether the one you typed has an account.
- Find the code in your email, including spam and promotions. Enter it as the Confirmation Code, choose a New Password of at least 8 characters, and click Update Password.
- Back on the sign-in page you will see “Your password has been updated.” Sign in with the new password.
No email came?
Wait a few minutes and check spam. Then check that you typed the address you signed up with: the form shows the same message whether or not that address has an account, so try your others. If your property manager moved to Doorvest and you have not set up your account yet, this form sends your setup link instead of a code. Use the link; you will not need the code screen.Already signed in and just want a new password? Go to Account, then Security, then Password. You need your current password there. If you have forgotten it, sign out and use Forgot your password? on the sign-in page instead.
Finish confirming a new account
When you sign up, we email a code to confirm the address. If you never entered it, sign-in stops at a confirmation screen until you do.
- Sign in with your email and the password you chose when you signed up. The confirmation screen appears after that.
- The page shows Confirm Your Account. Enter the code from the email and click Confirm Account. You are signed straight in.
- No code? Click Resend Code. The page shows no message when it sends, so wait a few minutes and check spam before you try again.

If you cannot remember the password you chose either, email your Doorvest team at success@doorvest.com with the address you signed up with.
If your property manager moved to Doorvest
When your property manager moved its homes to Doorvest, we set up an account for you and sent a setup link by text or email. The link is where you choose your password. Until you use it, there is no password to sign in with.
- Find the setup link in your texts or email. Searching for Doorvest helps.
- Tap it. The page greets you by name (or says Set up your account) and shows your email. Check your name and phone number, choose a password of at least 8 characters, type it again, and tick the box to accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
- Tap Set up my account. Doorvest signs you in, brings your homes over one by one, then shows a short checklist. Tap Go to my dashboard when you are done.
From then on, sign in at doorvest.com/login with your email and that password. Tapping the setup link again just opens the sign-in page with “Your account is already set up. Log in to get back to your homes.”
Can't find the link, or it doesn't work?
- An older invite link opens a page titled Check for your setup link. Tap Send my setup link, and the sign-in page then says “If there is an account set up for you, we just sent your setup link.”
- Or click Forgot your password? on the sign-in page and enter your email. While your account is waiting to be set up, that sends your setup link rather than a reset code.
- If the setup page says it could not set up your account, tap Request a new setup link.
- We send at most one setup link every 15 minutes and 3 in a day. After asking once, give it a few minutes and check spam rather than asking again.
Already chose a password through the reset form?
That works too. After you sign in, one more screen, One last step, asks you to accept the terms. Tap Finish setup to reach your homes.Two-factor codes and passkeys
If you turned on two-factor authentication, sign-in asks for a code after your password: Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app.
- Open your authenticator app and enter the current code for Doorvest. If it has expired, enter the newest one.
- After several wrong codes, sign-in pauses: “Too many incorrect codes. Please wait a few minutes, then sign in again.”
- Lost the phone with your authenticator app? Email your Doorvest team at success@doorvest.com from the address on your account, and say that you can no longer get codes.
If you set up a passkey (Face ID, Touch ID or a security key), type your email first, then click Sign in with a passkey. The button only appears in browsers that support passkeys. If the passkey does not work, the page asks you to use your password instead.
You turn two-factor on or off, and add or remove passkeys, under Account, then Security. If you sign in with Google, these settings do not appear: Google handles that part of your sign-in.
Signed in, but you don't see your home
Each Doorvest login sees the homes on that login, plus any homes another owner has shared with it as a co-investor. When a home is missing, it is usually on a different login.

- My Homes shows empty cards and a Browse homes button under Your properties, suggesting you buy your first rental. The address you signed in with has no homes on it. Sign out (Account, then Sign Out) and sign in with your other address.
- A link to a home opens My Homes instead. That home is on another login, often a spouse's or a business partner's. See giving a spouse or partner access.
- The home's page says Still syncing. The home is on your account, but its management details are still coming online. This usually clears within a day. If it lasts longer, message your team.
Still locked out? What to send us
Email your Doorvest team at success@doorvest.com, from the address on your account if you can. These details let us help on the first reply:
- the email address you are trying to sign in with
- the exact message on the screen (a screenshot is perfect)
- the device and browser you are using
- whether your property manager moved to Doorvest
If you can sign in but something looks wrong, message the team from Messages instead.
